Personal Information We May Collect

NYA may collect personal information through its website or otherwise. Personal information we may collect includes, but is not limited to, name, address, telephone number, and other contact information; personal information about candidates who have applied for a job opportunity with NYA. Personal information acquired by NYA submitted to the website or otherwise acquired is kept strictly confidential.  In all cases, the provision of personal information is voluntary; any personal information provided by users who register on the site is submitted at the user’s discretion.

How We Use the Information

NYA generally uses personal information for the following purposes:

  • creating a database of individuals who have registered to receive information from us;
  • maintaining business records for reasonable periods, and generally managing and administering our business including defending and bringing legal actions;
  • meeting legal, regulatory, insurance, security and processing requirements; and
  • otherwise with consent or as permitted or required by law.

Information provided by the user will not be forwarded, traded, or sold to outside organizations.  Users who register for any purpose may request to be removed from our e-mail list or any other electronic distribution list at any time.  North York Arts reserves the right to contact any registrant at any time to forward information, respond to questions, or provide notification of any changes to our registration policy.

Although NYA does not routinely disclose personal information, we may disclose personal information as necessary to meet legal, regulatory, insurance, audit, and security requirements; and as otherwise with your consent or as permitted or required by law. In addition to the above, personal information may be disclosed to our professional advisors, consultants, investigators and adjudicators for internal audit, management, billing or administrative purposes including defending and bringing legal actions. We may be required or permitted under statute or regulation to collect, use or disclose personal information without your consent, for example to comply with a court order, to comply with local or federal regulations or a legally permitted inquiry by a government agency.

Website Data Tracking and Information

North York Arts tracks online data to maintain a statistical record of website usage, identify system problems, and to monitor network traffic. Analysis of the data reveals information such as which pages are most often visited and the domains from which people visit the site. Identifying these trends helps us to provide more useful information and online experience to visitors.

The information collected does not identify individuals personally. It includes:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • Type of Operating System
  • Web browser in use

North York Arts also uses Google Adwords to assist with advertising. With Google Adwords you may receive ads based on your Google searches. Google Adwords uses cookies that allow them to recognize your computer each time you click an ad which allows us to ensure we’re serving relevant ads to users.

We do not attempt to link this information with the identity of the visitors to our websites except when necessary to protect the service, the site or the visitors to the site.

North York Arts’ website use cookies to enable the exchange of information between an individual’s web browser and our web server. Cookies enable on-line registration and indicate how an individual navigates the website, which facilitates the improvement of the site based on user-activity trends. North York Arts do not use cookies to obtain personal information. Users who register for any purpose may request their name be removed from our e-mail list or any other electronic distribution list at any time. You can opt-out by calling, sending us an email, or informing us in person.
