Program Lead: Sabrina (she/her) / Breetwo
Sabrina (She/her), also known as Breetwo, is an illustrator born and raised in the North York area. Her work often explores the intersectionality of growing up with both Eastern and Western influences. Her style is often narrative and textural, filled with colour and patterns. As an illustrator who grew up with OCD, she uses fantasy and folk as metaphors to process what is real. She has a love for nature and science and incorporates flora and fauna into most if not all of her work.
Her work in community arts started in illustrating stories written by young students through her work at Story Planet, a nonprofit focusing on creative writing for children. She has expanded and learned a massive love for public art; in particular she believes that art should reflect the communities it serves, embodying what is important and a point of pride to them.
