Why We Need You!
Artist Development. Creative Exploration. Community Connection.
This past year, we have supported roughly 254 artists and engaged an estimated 3,252 community members across North York.
Here’s what we achieved together this year, and how your support can help us continue making a lasting difference:
Artist Development: Artist and creator Bilal Baig led Building Your Artistic Voice, a program that supported emerging artists seeking guidance on advancing their careers, clarifying their artistic identity, and developing new streams of income to sustain their practice.
Creative Exploration: Through programs, like Stitching the Sacred: Islamic Geometry Embroidery Workshop with artist Leila Fatemi, we brought the beauty of textile art to the community, offering a space for hands-on creativity and cultural expression.
Community Connection: We also brought artists and community members together through the Grow North Newcomer Artist Picnic, where newcomers to Canada and art-curious neighbours gathered to connect, share their journeys, and build relationships rooted in creativity and belonging.
