July 9: Metro Big Band

This 21-piece Orchestra are among the top attractions at music festivals in many locations in and around the Toronto area including the Toronto Beaches Jazz Festival, Newmarket Jazz Festival and Bellville. They have had phenomenal response at Club 744 as well.

July 16: Swing Shift

From the band’s beginning in 1996 it quickly became apparent that this was a band intent on preserving the sounds and quality of the big band era – a band that has since been recognized as one of the top big bands in the country. With 17 talented musicians, male and female vocalists and optional dancers and female vocal trio, this band can entertain audiences of all ages.

July 23: Philips Westin Orchestra

Over the last 12 years, the Philips Westin Orchestra has selectively screened and groomed a tight high-calibre team of musicians and developed an invigorating mix for sophisticated audiences with its tasty blend of jazz, Latin, swing, r&b, funk, blues, pop, rock and show tunes.

July 30: The George Rose Big Band

Celebrating over thirty five years of continuous operation as an orchestra/ band providing big band music to London, Toronto and the GTA, Hamilton, Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph, St. Catharine’s, Niagara Falls, Guelph, Burlington, Oakville, Brantford and the surrounding area, The George Rose Big Band shows no sign of slowing down. This highly charged swinging band in Ontario is all about musical entertainment at its best. August 6: York Jazz Ensemble

The York Jazz Ensemble has been performing since 2000. This nine-piece jazz band is comprised of trumpet, trombone, baritone, tenor and alto saxophones, piano, bass, guitar and drums.

August 13: Toronto All-Star Big Band

One of the most exciting bands around, the Toronto All-Star Big Band revives the spirit style and sound of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s – that golden age of the big bands.
